Sunrise at the Grand Canyon!  It didn't take long into the hike to begin to enjoy the colors as the day dawned.

Jason Gaston looks from the Bright Angel Trail across the Canyon towards the North Rim.

Another dawn photo-  this one looking northwest from the Bright Angel Trail.

Ross's favorite photo of the trip.

"That's the silliest thing I ever hoid."

Tom "Groucho" Dillon enjoys a meat stick for breakfast on the Bright Angel Trail.

Could that be Colby's camera lens we see in the background?

Shot of Jason Gaston, Colby Strom and Tony Bagwell ahead of us in the switchback.

Starting to warm up just a bit now!

After lunch we hit the Colorado River!  You can see it's pretty muddy; this is a shot looking east back upstream.  We're about to start hiking that trail you see above their heads, which runs along side the river.

After we crossed the Colorado we hit the trail split-- almost at our Campground!

We left the Bright Angel Trail and picked up the North Kaibab Trail, which we'd be on the next two days.

Come evening time Tony pitches his tent at the campsite and gets ready for some MAJOR sack time.

The next morning we hiked on up "The Slot" (a canyon within the Grand Canyon) and crossed Bright Angel Creek several times.

The National Park Service has done an outstanding job on keeping the trails well maintained.

Tom Dillon, official Pace Car of Geezer Trek 2004, leads the feckless Geezers along the trail-- still no breakfast!

"Breakfast?  Did someone say breakfast?"

"I like breakfast!"

Ribbon Falls, just off Bright Angel Creek.

Looking north from the trail, just before Cottonwood Campground.

Late morning and it's starting to get toasty.
