We will put our backpacks inside large duffel bags, check them to and from Vegas and carry a day pack around until we hit the trail.  So we’ll take three bags—a large duffel bag, a backpack and a small day bag (for daily use).

Wear on Sunday, Monday & Friday

    Geezer Trek golf shirt

 Khaki pants

 Comfortable street shoes

 Geezer Trek Boonie Hat

 

Pack in duffel bag and check through:

 Backpack

 Shaving kit

 Film, extra batteries, etc.

 Extra street clothes

 Extra underwear, socks, tennis shoes

 Pocket knives, scissors (anything SHARP!)

 

Take in day bag Sunday, Monday & Friday:

 Bible, books, music, etc

 Rain gear (nylon jacket and pants)

 Camera, film, etc.

 Water bottle

 Snacks

 Maps

 Journal & pen

 2-way radio (optional)

 

Take & wear on trail to Supai Village:

 Polyester t-shirt or long-sleeved top

 Nylon trail pants or zip-offs

 Nylon wind shell (with official G.T. 2003 logo!)

 Thor-lo or Smartwool trekking socks, sock liners

 Lightweight Boots

 Geezer Trek Boonie Hat

 Rain gear (nylon jacket and pants)

 Toilet paper & plastic shovel

 Ziplock back to carry expended toilet paper

 Large "Sierra" cup or lexan bowl

 50 feet of parachute cord

2 extra aluminum tent stakes

 2 kitchen-sized garbage bags

 Matches or lighter

 2-gal zip-lock bags (clothes organized & dry)

 Long johns: silk or polypropylene

 2 underpants

 T-shirt, preferably polyester

 Long-sleeved shirt, polyester

 Extra nylon trail pants

 2 Thor-lo trekking or Smartwool hiking socks
