Thursday,
September 11, 2003 from 5-9 PM will
be an after-work training hike up Yonah Mountain (just north of Cleveland,
Georgia). Meet at the commuter parking lot at the end of Georgia 400
at 5 PM. Bring a sack dinner and 2 quarts of water.
Friday, September 12, 2003
at 11:30 AM, lunch at Bill's Barbeque. Highway 9 north of
Cumming (a bit north of the Forsyth Schools Administration Building).

Saturday, September 20, 2003 from
8-3 PM will be a warm-up training hike up Blood Mountain. Meet at
the commuter parking lot at the end of Georgia 400 at 8 AM, bring a sack
lunch, snacks and 2 quarts of water. We will be hiking the Freeman
approach trail, skirting Blood Mountain, will have lunch on top of Blood
mountain and returning no later than 3 PM. This will be a
major, mandatory shakedown hike only three weeks before departure.
If you're not comfortable on this hike-- then Houston, you've got a
problem.

from 7-9 PM will be a Geezer Trek meeting at Ross Statham's house.
We will discuss final trip itinerary, necessary gear and other items.
Mandatory.

Meet at the commuter parking lot at the end of Georgia 400 at 4 PM.
Bring a sack dinner and 2 quarts of water. Bring all gear you plan
to take on the trail in Arizona.

Saturday, October 4, 2003
from 8 AM until 3 PM will be a hike on a moderate stretch of the Coosa Backcountry Trail.
(Bring all the gear you plan to take on the trail in Arizona.) Meet
at the commuter parking lot at the end of Georgia 400 at 8 AM, bring a
sack lunch, snacks and 3 quarts of water. We will drive to the other
side of Vogel,
hit the trail and have lunch on the trail before returning no later than 3
PM. Mandatory final shakedown hike. You need to be
there, or let Ross know why you can't come.

at the Delta airport ticket counter in the South Terminal at 3 PM.
We may try to get a bunch of us together to ride down to the airport.
Flight out is at 5:15 PM, arrive in Las Vegas at 6:37 PM (Delta Air Lines)
