Geezer Trek 2003- The men, the trek, the medication....

Ah, do you remember those exciting days of yesteryear?  We don't-- we don't even remember those exciting days of yesterday!

But in the endless pursuit to try to retain some semblance of our youth (before it disappears with our teeth, dark hair and boyish enthusiasm), we still hike those western trails, fish in those clear mountain streams, mumble incoherently and drink all the coffee that's allowable by law.

And all this for only $9.99.  What a bargain! *  (*Read the fine print.  See the disclaimer)

So why would a group of normal, well-adjusted men from North Georgia still try to recapture their youth?

Good question.  Could it be that we, like Solomon, see that all is "vanity and striving after the wind"?  Could it be a never-ending quest to re-capture our inner child?  Could it be another good excuse to get away from our wives?  (Come out from under that bed, you coward, and fight me like a man....)  Or could it be that we ain't got a clue what "normal" or "well-adjusted" is?

Led by Ross "I'm right behind you boys" Statham, the feckless crew of Ancient Dudes lives life to the fullest.  Already famous for their crossing of the Grand Canyon in October 1999, the old guys continue their quest for truth, justice and cheap Mexican food.  ("Hey-- I've been thrown out of better joints dan dis!")

So keep on watching this space for the upcoming adventures of our fearless travelers.  Meanwhile, it's time to put on that pot of coffee, break out the pep pills and turn up those hearing aids!

And as Steve Martin once said:  "A day without sunshine is like.... night."
